With a total population of over 8 million people (total population of the prefecture exceeds 12 million) Tokyo is one of the most populated cities of the world.
A population of over 35 million people makes of the Greater Tokyo Area,(which includes Chiba, Kanagawa, and Saitama) most populous metropolitan area in the world.
Despite Japanese overall declining population,the Greater Tokyo Area's population is still growing!
